Visa congratulates 2018 Global Service Quality Awards recipients

The client performance programme spotlights innovation in payments, operational efficiency and cardholder satisfaction.

Visa’s Global Service Quality Awards is an annual client performance programme honouring some of Visa’s highest-performing acquirers, issuers and issuer processors that meet eligibility requirements in key areas such as fraud reduction, authorisation and proliferation of innovative payments such as tap to pay and Visa Direct.

The GSQA client performance programme spotlights metrics focused on enabling clients to operationalise insights in the pursuit of meaningful growth. Solely based on quantitative, measurable criteria, fewer than 1% of VisaNet clients achieve this honour.

The Future of Payments

Payments are changing with new players, experiences and expectations. A significant portion of Visa’s volume is now digital, and many market trends are affecting how our clients do business. Remaining agile and open to innovation are keys to success in a changing payments landscape.

Visa believes tapping-to-pay is the future of fast, easy and secure payments at the point of sale. Globally, adoption continues to see strong growth with nearly half of all face-to-face Visa transactions occurring with a tap outside the USA.

The US market is increasingly gaining traction in terms of adoption. On the acceptance side, 80 out of the top 100 merchants in the USA by ranked by transactions offer the ability to tap to pay at checkout today.  On the issuance side, Visa expects to see over 100 million contactless Visa cards issued in the USA by the end of 2019 and 300 million by the end of 2020. Visa continues working with clients and partners to drive awareness and adoption of tapping to pay with contactless cards and contactless-enabled devices.

Visa Direct is powering a fundamental shift in the way money moves around the world, enabling payments to over a billion cards worldwide and allowing consumers fast access to funds. Visa Direct is also helping consumers in emerging markets, allowing them to use their enabled mobile applications to “conveniently push” money to business accounts for payment of goods and services.
